So this week Elder Sa turned 19, so that was fun! I hung up that banner that you sent me for my birthday, mom, and we made him a brownie cake, which was actually pretty good. Elder St made it, since he’s the missionary in our companionship who actually can cook. And then we had a family night with him and Elder L on Saturday night! That doesn’t sound too special, I know, but this member makes sweets for a living, so that was delicious. They’re a less-active family that we’ve been working with, and they’re great! We’re working on helping the father come back to church so he can baptize his daughter, who wants to be baptized. We had a good time there chatting and eating and sharing a message about faith! Their son was showing us his World Cup sticker book, which is super popular here among the kids–you can buy a pack of stickers for one real, and they try to collect the stickers of all the players and stadiums and everything.
Our ward family night was fun! We shared the message of the Restoration and then had a ping-pong tournament. Since the closet with the ping-pong paddles is always locked and we never have a key, we played with hymnals. I’m not sure if that’s okay, but we have become quite talented with them haha. When the man with the key comes to church, we’ll switch the paddles to the missionary closet so we can use them! haha.
On Tuesday we had a meeting in the morning with President and Sister Cabral, and then since we had to stay inside for the rest of the day, we had the chance to super-clean our apartment and dedicate it! That was a really cool experience, and you can definitely feel the difference. All 6 of us are more friendly and more clean and the Spirit is a lot stronger in our house!
Today Brazil plays again, so we’ll be inside studying. I like the chance to study–Sister Cabral gives us studies each month to do, so it gives us a chance to catch up on those. I’m working on one now that’s pretty broad–a study on the desires of our hearts! It’s a good way to get to know the scriptures really well, one of my goals here on the mission.
Well talk to you all next week, love you!
